Test before you run
The articles, commands, configurations and tools on OhSudo are for educational and informational purposes. Each article says which systems and versions it applies to (“Applies to…”), but your environment is different: other versions, other settings, other data.
Shell, we have a problem!
Commands that change, delete or move data — rm, DROP, TRUNCATE, chmod -R, firewall rules, database migrations — can cause damage that cannot be undone. Try them on a test system first, read them twice, and make sure you have a working backup.
You are responsible for what you run on your systems. OhSudo is not liable for damage resulting from the use of its content — see our Terms of Use.
Versions change
Software changes fast. An article is correct for the versions it names and on the date it was last updated. If you find something outdated, tell us and we’ll re-test it.
The in-browser tools
The Terminal Playground emulates a Linux shell: the most common commands behave like GNU/Linux, but it is not a real operating system. The SQL Playground runs real PostgreSQL and SQLite engines in your browser; the SQL Dialect Reference shows examples for engines that can’t run in a browser (MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle), written from each vendor’s documentation.
Not professional advice
Nothing on OhSudo is legal, security-audit or professional consulting advice for your specific situation.
