Privacy Policy
Updated November 1, 2026
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you use ohsudo.com (“OhSudo”, “we”, “us”), why, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The short version: we don’t have accounts, we don’t use tracking or advertising cookies, and everything you type into our tools stays in your browser.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data described here is OhSudo, reachable at contact@ohsudo.com. Write to this address for anything related to your data.
2. What we process, and why
Visiting the website
ohsudo.com is a static website delivered through our hosting and security provider (a content delivery network), which acts on our behalf. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks and abuse, it processes technical data of each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser’s user agent and the referring page.
- Purpose: delivering the website securely and reliably.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: only for as long as needed for these purposes, under the provider’s retention rules.
We don’t keep server logs ourselves, and we can’t link an IP address to a person.
Visit statistics (cookieless)
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint your device and does not build a profile of you. We only see aggregated numbers (for example, how many times a page was viewed and from which country).
- Purpose: understanding which content is useful, in aggregate.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our tools
The Terminal Playground, SQL Playground, Docker Compose Generator and the calculators run entirely in your browser. What you type in them is never sent to us or to anyone else. Some tools keep their state in the page address (the part after #), which browsers do not send to the server; if you share such a link, whoever you share it with sees that state. The Docker Compose Generator never puts passwords in the address.
Settings stored in your browser
We store two small items in your browser’s local storage, only for you and never sent to us: your theme choice (dark or light) and your privacy choice from the cookie banner. Details in our Cookie Policy.
When you email us
If you write to contact@ohsudo.com, we process your email address, name (if you give it) and the content of your message to reply to you. Your message is delivered and stored, and our replies are sent, through our email providers.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
- Retention: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then deleted — at most 2 years after the last message, unless the law requires longer.
What we don’t do
- No user accounts, no comments, no contact forms, no newsletter (yet).
- No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no social media plugins that track you.
- Fonts and all other files are served from our own domain — no Google Fonts or third-party CDNs.
- We don’t sell or rent personal data, and we don’t use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Who receives data
Only these categories of providers, and only for the purposes above:
| Category | What for |
|---|---|
| Hosting and security provider | Delivering the website, protecting it from abuse, cookieless visit statistics |
| Email providers | Receiving, storing and sending email to and from contact@ohsudo.com |
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection, or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to a public authority with a valid legal request.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have it corrected if it is wrong, or deleted,
- restrict or object to its processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests,
- receive it in a portable format (data portability),
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting what happened before.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@ohsudo.com with “Privacy” in the subject. We answer within one month. We act on requests sent from the email address the data belongs to. Since we hold almost no personal data — usually only emails you sent us — we’ll tell you exactly what we have, if anything, and delete it on request. We can’t link IP addresses to a person, so we can’t act on those (Art. 11 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live, work or where you think your rights were infringed.
5. Children
OhSudo is written for IT professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly process their personal data.
6. Changes
When the way we process data changes — for example if we add advertising, a newsletter or comments — we will update this page before the change goes live, change the date at the top and, where consent is needed, ask for it through the cookie banner.
